** House Notes** Be careful if races start close to each other. You may not get the results of the race you placed a bet on before the next race starts, so do try to either watch a Live Feed of the race or “watch” the race in real-time at Betfair. **
For Tripler, OBAD, and Ratchet, I use the 3 selections generated by the HRP software, assess each one, and then say what I am going to do. Obviously, you can make your own decisions as to what you think the outcomes will be. Sometimes, the result of a previous race will dictate whether I stick with my predictions or not.
My new system, Doc’s Fav Goldmine, is showing plenty of promise and I have had several winners on the spin. My small stakes are increasing in size, due to a constant supply of winning selections 🙂 My DFG Bank is now really building nicely. As it’s 10% of the Betting Bank, any losses do hit hard but have always caught up rapidly before moving ahead again.
I stop betting if I hit my target of 2.5% (or as near as dammit.) Use your common sense – if you get close to your personal target, it’s your decision as to whether you want to carry on & go for it. Personally, I learned the harsh lesson of being greedy, and many times, when just under my target, I have “Gone for it,” only to lose the lot chasing bigger profits.
It’s your call as to whether you take the early odds, hoping they will then go down, or wait until nearer the off hoping the odds have increased. The key thing to remember is a winner (or winners) at odds totaling 1.25 or above will hit your Daily Target. A profit of 2.5% per day will double your Bank in a month.
STAY SAFE FELLAS.
TODAY’S “JOCKEY OF THE DAY”: Willie Morgan. 16.10. Roscommon. Bold Enough.
TODAY’S HRP SELECTIONS
15.55 – Salisbury – Franklet. (74) – I don’t know a great deal about this horse but it has the highest HRP score, so must be half decent. Purely for this reason, it has to be a SPLIT.
16.10 – Roscommon – Bold Enough. (62) – This horse has one of the best jockeys around, former Burnley and Man United wizard winger, Willie Morgan. I reckon Willie will dribble all the way to the line. WIN.
17.30 – Wetherby – El Picaro. (64) – Although a tough race – our Jockey Phil Mitchell is up against Farnworth’s very own Robert Shaw, dancing Mancunian songster Freddie Garrity, and one of the Nolans – our horse sets the standards pretty high. I’m going for Big Phil to triumph. WIN
OBAD
15.55 – Salisbury – Franklet. (74). See Above.
RATCHET – Instructions for use: http://bit.ly/35tpfR
DOC’S FAV GOLDMINE – All selections are in the PLACE market unless otherwise stated. Stop at a profit of 2.5% per day. (Or as near as.) Use 10% of your Bank as stake. If a loss happens, keep to the last stake and not 10% of the new, reduced Bank.
I am also showing the early Place Odds in brackets and the number of runners and the number of horses to be placed. It’s your decision as to whether or not you take the early odds or wait, hoping they will increase. The key thing to remember is a winner/winners at odds totaling 1.25 or above will hit your Daily Target. A profit of 2.5% per day will double your Bank every month.
Please be prepared to change your line of thinking – “on the hoof” so to speak – if the odds move dramatically. They may drift, thus making the selection a “No Bet”, or the odds may steam in, making it not worth taking the risk.
If you want to, you can omit any bets with odds below 1.25 (or thereabouts) and just concentrate on the bets over those odds. This reduces the number of bets but means if you get a winner, you have hit your target and can stop betting for the day, not having to risk any more money on another race. (It also means, however, if you get a loser, there will be fewer races left to recoup any losses.)
Only 2 selections today so I hope I don’t get let down. If I lose Race 1, there’s not much leeway for catching up, especially as Race 2 is quite a large field over a short distance. Things my nightmares are made of.
13.00 – Salisbury – Cashew. (1.44 – 10 – 3)
17.30 – Wetherby – El Picaro. (1.25 – 13 – 3)
Just in case, I have drawn up a “Back Up” list:-
14.55 – Wolverhampton – Manhattanville. (1.34 – 11 – 3)
15.30 – Wolverhampton – Tantastic. (1.31 – 8 – 3)
YESTERDAY’S SUMMARY
Yet another terrific day’s results. The 2nd place result on Race 1 Tripler didn’t really matter (let down by Scotty Fitzgerald) as Races 2 and 3 both won for us. It also meant for nice wins on OBAD and Ratchet.
Doc’s Fav Goldmine had 3 selections and all of them won for us. Race 1 made me a nice 3.43% so I stuck to my plan and stopped betting for the day. I’m a tad jealous when the remaining selections come in and I’ve not had a bet on them, but if I can make 3.43% every day, I’ll be a happy Doc by Christmas! 🙂
TODAY’S “JOCKEY OF THE DAY”: F. Scott Fitzgerald. 14.05. Listowel. The Little Yank.
Bit of a disappointment for our Scotty. He only managed 2nd. I think he was completing his 8 from 10 perm on his Zetter’s football coupon at the final turn. What a pleb!
TRIPLER
14.05 – Listowel – The Little Yank. (72) – WIN. RESULT – 2nd.
14.30 – Leicester – Highest Ground. (74) – WIN. RESULT – 1st.
19.30 – Windsor – Sea Sylph. (71) – WIN. RESULT – 1st.

DOC’S FAV GOLDMINE
14.30 – Leicester – Highest Ground. (1.25 – 5 – 2) RESULT – 1st.
18.45 – Pontefract – A Star Above. (1.25 – 4 – 2) RESULT – 2nd.
19.30 – Windsor – Sea Sylph. (1.23 – 12 – 3) RESULT – 1st.
Morning Doc, can I ask on the DFG, when you say if the odds drift from the early
price as stated on the post, how big do they have to get to be a no bet!!
Hiya GP.
Personally, if the odds started drifting, I would keep an eye on the WIN odds of the selected horse. If the WIN odds start drifting beyond 3.0, I would seriously consider whether to put a PLACE bet on. It means that obviously, our fancied nag is dropping down the list of chances to win. So, basically, keep an eye out for the WIN odds to see if they drift past 3.0.
Cheers Rob
thanks for that mate, top man
