Rather than do 2 posts a day, I will do my Thoughts For The Day and at the end, do a summary of yesterday’s races. I hope this is OK.
OBAD
1 13.40 Uttoxeter Designer Destiny
The stuff of my nightmares. A long race, jumps and the odds on the top horses are all fairly close. HRP came up with the selection and Betfair gives it a good write up. Having said that, I will probably opt for the SPLIT as the odds to come in the top 3 are OK.
My choice – SPLIT
TRIPLER
1 13.00 Navan Abracadabras Non Runner
2 13.40 Uttoxeter Designer Destiny HRP Score 65 See OBAD above
3 15.30 Navan Bigbadandbeautiful HRP Score57
Bigbadandbeautiful has a good HRP Score and is at the front of the odds. However, there are a few other horses that seemed to have performed quite well recently and seem up to the job. This tempts me to go for a SPLIT as the place odds aren’t bad.
My choice – SPLIT
With the 1st selection being a Non Runner, I am going to wait until about 12 ish to see if the HRP site comes up with an alternative. If not, I will use the remaining 2 races to bet on. I really hope Designer Destiny comes in as it will solve the problem of whether or not to continue betting if it wins.
All I am trying to do is make a small profit every day, grow my Bank and make life a little more comfortable, money wise. As I always say, my daily target is 2.5%, so if I hit it on Race 1, I will stop that particular system for the day. The choice is yours as to whether or not you feel “It’s your day” and want to carry on. If you work out your Bank doubling every month by sticking at 2.5% daily, you will have a really healthy Bank after 6 months. That’s my attitude.
TRIPLER 10% RATCHET
Straight 10% of Bank as the stake. At present, 1 selection is a Non Runner so I am just going to carry on using the 2 remaining races.
Target for the day as always, is to win 2.5% of my Starting Bank. Good luck guys.
Summary Saturday 23rd November 2019.
OBAD
13.55 Lingfield Documenting HRP Score 77
With only 7 runners and an HRP score of 77, I went for the WIN. Duly obliged with a comfortable victory. Also gave me a profit of 2.59%. My target is 2.5% so a good result.
TRIPLER
12.20 Ascot Valtor HRP Score 75
This one was a bit tricky. I know it has a very good HRP score but 2 mile hurdles worry me. There were only 5 runners so it did have a really good chance. They were paying out on 2 places so I calculated the winnings if I went for a Win and did the same for a Split bet. A Win would have brought a really good profit. However, if I went for the Split and the horse won, I would win both the Win and Split elements and also beat my daily target.
I went for a Split bet. Valtor won, profit was 3.01% so Job Done on the Tripler. No need for me to carry on with this system.

I know a lot of people will think I’m going for the easy option, but why cause excessive stress and worry when a nice 2.5% a day hits the spot?
TRIPLER 10% RATCHET
Straight 10% of Bank as the stake. Valtor duly won in the 12.20 at Ascot which gave me a return of 3.8%
Target for the day as always, was to win 2.5% of my Starting Bank. Target hit on each of the 3 systems.
A good day.
Dr Rob, I’m new to this so please bare with me here. So the one bet a day we put 2 points to win or place as to your instructions, if it wins that’s it for the day, if it loses we then put 3 points on the next days OBAD horse if the same result then 4 points on the next day until it wins , am I correct here please? Thanks Gary
Hi Gary.
I look to see if my return – if any – is 2.5%. If it is, I stop as that’s may target for the day. If I hit the target I stop and I also stop if it is slightly under 2.5%. (No hard & fast figures, just common sense.) If you lose, the stake is increased as per your comments (& the Platinum Staking Plan.)
If you win but the target hasn’t been met, I look at the possible outcomes on the next race. By that, I mean I first look at the Split stake. If the horse places & it takes you over 2.5%, I stop.
Hope this helps. (But I am no expert & just do “my own thing” so long as I can get 2.5% a day profit.)
