Thursday 19th December 2019 + Summary

Race 1 is Hereford 13.10. There are only 5 runners and 3 are very close in the betting. For this reason, I am going for a SPLIT. Race 2 only has 3 runners with Midnight Tune clear favourite. My choice is WIN. The last race, the 17.25 at Wolverhampton is a straightforward 7 furlong “Leg it as fast as possible” race. My choice on this one is a WIN.

Without shame, I am going to repeat the fact that I am no horse racing guy whatsoever. I know “Sweet FA” about the sport and just interpret the selections in my own way. My target is to make a 2.5% profit from my bank’s starting amount for the day. If I make this amount (or as near as dammit) on Race 1, I STOP betting for the day. I’m not a big risk taker, so if I hit my target early on, why run the risk of blowing it for the sake of being greedy?

YESTERDAY’S SUMMARY.

I went for a WIN on Race 1 & the bugger got beaten into 3rd place by a 9/2 winner & a 20/1 donkey. “Here we go again” I thought. I chose a WIN again on Race 2 & the horse duly obliged, albeit it because the odds were quite low, I was still in a loss making situation after the 1st 2 races. The selection for Race 3 was at really good (for us) odds and I went for a SPLIT. This was because if it won, I would win both elements of the bet (Win and Place) and I would beat my daily target. If it only placed, I would reduce my losses. The horse came up trumps and won! Good stuff.

OBAD – Loss

TRIPLER – 4.12% profit

RATCHET – 8.00% profit. (I didn’t bet on the 1st 2 races because the odds were too much of a risk. My 10% stake on Race 3 proved a great choice with the horse placing at excellent odds, giving a healthy profit.

GOOD LUCK & DON’T BE GREEDY.
