TODAY’S BETS

Race 1, our selection is favourite but there is apparently, a terrific horse just behind in the betting that has great write ups. Personally, I’m going for a SPLIT. Race 2 is a lot more straightforward with our selection red hot favourite. (Really?? lol) A WIN on this one for me. On the 3rd race, ours is favourite but the odds are quite high for a favourite. I will be waiting for the outcome of the 1st 2 bets before deciding, but if pushed, I will probably go for the win, unless a Split bet will hit my 2.5% target with the place coming in.

Ratchet as ever, is 10% of the day’s starting bank with a STOP at 2.5% profit. Consider the Place Odds if they are low – is it worth risking your stake to win a small amount or wait for a race which has decent-ish odds. (Around 1.2 for the Place.)

YESTERDAY’S SUMMARY

What a crazy day – again! The 1st race only had 2 runners & our selection won. The odds were so that I had to carry on to race 2 to try & hit my target. There were only 4 runners in this one & ours was the favourite by quite a distance. So what happens? A sodding 4/1 shot won by 8 lengths! I mean, have our jockeys been on the Christmas pud a week early?? 8 lengths! I ask you. So, it was all down to Race 3 and a Win selection. Outcome? It came 2nd – beaten by a duffer at 8/1! I think the Racing Gods have been against us for the last few days. Our luck has to change & the Law of Averages says we will have a really good winning run. I only hope it starts tomorrow!

That meant my OBAD lost and I lost a fair amount on Tripler. Our Ratchet selection – 14.30 at Ascot – came in 2nd and proved the only bright spot on a dull and dreary day.
