TODAY’S SELECTIONS
OBAD
13.00 – Taunton – Masters Legacy – 12 runners, sodding hurdles but a clear leader. Coupled with a great HRP score, I’m going fora WIN.
TRIPLER
13.00 – Taunton – Masters Legacy – See OBAD above.
14.00 – Taunton – Escapability – A lot closer in the early odds although favourite. Good competition according to the write ups. For me, caution always wins so for this reason, I’m going for a SPLIT.
15.30 – Taunton – Captain Cattistock – Similar to Race 2. Very close at the top of the betting. Again, caution overrules so it’s going to be a SPLIT for me.
PLEASE bear in mind these are my choices and depending on the results as & when they come in, the following choices may change. I use Gav’s fabulous spreadsheet to look at the permutations of Win & Split & what the outcomes would be in a Split situation with a Win/Win & a Debit/Win. If a Debit/Win comes anywhere near my 2.5% target, I will stop for the day. (See HRP Reward Store at the top left of the Home Page & if you can, grab your own copy of this awesome software.)
RATCHET
10% of Day’s Bank as always. Stop if you hit 2.5% (or close) but it’s up to you if you want to chance your arm & carry on. Personally, I NEVER do as I would sooner keep my profit rather than risking 10% of my Bank on a potential loser.
YESTERDAY’S SUMMARY
TRIPLER
I went for Beaufort West to win in Race 1 & it duly obliged. My stake meant I hit 3.48% profit for the day so JOB DONE, no more betting for me on Tripler.
OBAD
I went for a SPLIT on Nightboattoclyro. (What a stupid name!) If it won, I would have hit Job Done with a win on both elements of the bet. The horse came 3rd so, with the odds I had, I made a tiny profit. (Better than a tiny loss!)
RATCHET
Place bet on Beaufort West brought me a nice, but under target win. Next 10% stake went on the Nightboat thing which came 3rd, so another win. Total profit on Ratchet was 5.98% so no 3rd bet for me.
Overall, a terrific day which could only have been bettered if Nighboat Doo Dah would have won.
Note that a version of the Platinum Spreadsheet is also available under to TOOLS menu.
Thanks Arthur.
