9th January 2021 + Summary + Doc’s Fav Goldmine

** House Notes: Be careful if races start close to each other. You may not get the results of the race you placed a bet on before the next race starts, so do try to either watch a Live Feed of the race, or “watch” the race in real time at Betfair. **

My new system, Doc’s Fav Goldmine, is showing plenty of promise and I have had several winners on the spin. I am only using small stakes but the signs are very promising. My DFG Bank is now really building nicely.

I stop betting if I hit my target of 2.5% (or as near as dammit.) Use your common sense – if you get close to your personal target, it’s your decision as to whether you want to carry on & go for it. Personally, I learned the harsh lesson of being greedy and many times, when just under target, I have “Gone for it,” only to lose the lot chasing bigger profits.

WISHING YOU ALL A HAPPY, HEALTHY AND VERY PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.

STAY SAFE FELLAS.

TODAY’S HRP SELECTIONS

TRIPLER

11.52 – Wincanton – Malinello. Even with our old mucca, Juke Box Jury’s very own David Jacobs on board, there is a huge field in this race, all trying their best. Because of the large field, I’m going for a SPLIT.

14.05 – Wincanton – Protektorat. Only 3 runners, but I’m going for a Harry Skeleton WIN.

14.55 – Kempton – Imperial Aura. Won 3 out of 3 and is an exceptional talent. He’s the pick of the 4 runners. WIN.

OBAD

14.55 – Kempton – Imperial Aura. See Above.

RATCHET – Instructions for use: http://bit.ly/35tpfR3

DOC’S FAV GOLDMINE – All selections are in the PLACE market, unless otherwise stated. Stop at a profit of 2.5% per day. (Or as near as.) I use the Platinum Staking Plan.

12.25 – Wincanton – On To Victory.

14.05 – Chelmsford – Album.

15.50 – Chepstow – Whiteoak Fleur.

YESTERDAY’S SUMMARY

2 x 1st places on Tripler was good enough to stop betting. (Good job as the next selection was a WIN & it came 3rd.) OBAD was a blowout but Ratchet was a winner, with all 3 HRP selections finishing in the places. My Fav Goldmine was touch and go. Race 1 was a Non Runner, but Races 2 & 3 both came in, so you should have stopped betting for the day. (The remaining selections would have reduced our Bank had you carried on.) I learned my lesson the hard way – don’t get greedy & stop at, or near to your daily target.)

TRIPLER

13.50 – Lingfield – Glory And Honour. Our hero, Big Dick Johnson is on board & this horse has been performing particularly well. I’m going for a WIN. RESULT – 1st.

14.10 – Newcastle – Snookered. Not a selection that really stands out, although a steady performer. SPLIT. RESULT – 1st.

14.20 – Lingfield – Hasanabad. Sweeney Todd’s lad, Charlie pilots our trusty steed. Many questions hang over the other selections, so it’s a WIN. RESULT – 3rd.

OBAD

14.20 – Lingfield – Hasanabad. See Above. RESULT – 3rd.

RATCHET – RESULTS – 1st, 1st & 3rd.

DOC’S FAV GOLDMINE – All selections are in the PLACE market, unless otherwise stated. Stop at a profit of 2.5% per day. (Or as near as.) I use the Platinum Staking Plan.

13.40 – Newcastle – Moonking. RESULT – Non Runner.

13.50 – Lingfield – Glory And Honour. RESULT – 1st.

14.20 – Lingfield – Hasanabad. RESULT – 3rd.

14.40 – Newcastle – Soa. RESULT – 5th.

14.50 – Lingfield – Mengli Khan. RESULT – 2nd.

16.15 – Southwell – Blue Hero. RESULT – 4th.

18.00 – Dundalk – Ferrybank. RESULT – 1st.

Hi Michael, in a Split Stake bet set at a 25/75 ratio you need Place odds of 1.33 to break even if placing but not winning the race. Anything above that ensures varying degrees of profit if placing only, depending on the odds.

Hi Michael. Thanks for your question. I really don’t have anything hard and fast about the lowest odds. It all depends on how well the horse has bee running, how many horses are in the race etc. Sometimes, I’ll go down to 1.1 or so, but I tend to go with my gut feeling to be honest.
