** House Notes: Be careful if races start close to each other. You may not get the results of the race you placed a bet on before the next race starts, so do try to either watch a Live Feed of the race, or “watch” the race in real time at Betfair. **

My new system, Doc’s Fav Goldmine, is showing plenty of promise and I have had several winners on the spin. I am only using small stakes but the signs are very promising. My DFG Bank is now really building nicely.

I stop betting if I hit my target of 2.5% (or as near as dammit.) Use your common sense – if you get close to your personal target, it’s your decision as to whether you want to carry on & go for it. Personally, I learned the harsh lesson of being greedy and many times, when just under target, I have “Gone for it,” only to lose the lot chasing bigger profits.

13.40 – Exeter – Karl Philippe. Runner up on recent C & D race but this horse enjoys heavy going and shows lots pf promise. WIN.

15.20 – Southwell – Action Hero. I’m worried about Tellmeyourstory, but I am still going for a WIN.

16.10 – Exeter – Flemenstide. A recent 2nd place with room for improvement. I’m going for Harry H. Corbett to pull off today’s 3rd WIN.

YESTERDAY’S SUMMARY

An up and down sort of a day. Selection1 on Tripler came in, but my selections of 2 other wins fell foul. OBAD lost but Ratchet gave us 2 x 2nd places. My Fav Goldmine had 2 winners on the first 2 races, so should have been sufficient for you to stop betting for the day.

TRIPLER

11.52 – Wincanton – Malinello. Even with our old mucca, Juke Box Jury’s very own David Jacobs on board, there is a huge field in this race, all trying their best. Because of the large field, I’m going for a SPLIT. RESULT – 2nd.

14.05 – Wincanton – Protektorat. Only 3 runners, but I’m going for a Harry Skeleton WIN. RESULT – 2nd.

14.55 – Kempton – Imperial Aura. Won 3 out of 3 and is an exceptional talent. He’s the pick of the 4 runners. WIN. RESULT – U/R.

    Hi Michael.

    I use the HRP “automated” spreadsheet. It works out all the stakes for you without you having to worry.

    If I have a losing day on Tripler, I “mess around” with the spreadsheet to see the result of “What Ifs.” The spreadsheet allows you to calculate what would happen with an increased stke with a win in the Place market etc etc. This reduces my exposure. I don’t have a hard and fast rule. I hate losing mney and if I can do a Split bet which recovers a fair percentage of my losses, I am happy.

    The spreadsheet also allows you to vary the Split amounts, from a 1-3 split, a 2-2 split and a 3-1 split.

    If you can grab a copy of the spreadsheet, it would help you enormously.
