CLUB NOTES.
- Be careful if races start close to each other. You may not get the results of the race you placed a bet on before the next race starts, so do try to either watch the race live, or watch it on Betfair.
- For Tripler, OBAD, and Ratchet, I use the 3 selections generated by the HRP software, assess each one, and then state my predictions. Obviously, you can make your own decisions. Sometimes, the result of a previous race dictates whether I stick with my predictions or not. The automated Platinum spreadsheet determines your next stake, based on the result of the previous race and is geared at helping you hit your daily target.
- I ALWAYS stop betting if I hit my target of 2.5% (or as near as dammit.) Use your common sense – if you get close to your personal target, it’s your decision as to whether you want to carry on. In the past when just under my target, I have “Gone for it,” only to lose the lot chasing bigger profits.
- It’s your call as to whether you take the early odds, hoping they will then go down, or wait until nearer the off hoping the odds have increased.
- The key thing to remember is a winner (or winners) at odds totalling 1.25 or above will hit your Daily Target. A profit of 2.5% per day will double your Bank in a month.
- I have also added DFG OBAD. (Doc’s Fav Goldmine – One Bet A Day.)
Doc’s Fav Goldmine Notes:
STAKING PLAN 1
- All selections are in the PLACE market.
- Stop at a profit of 2.5% per day. (Or as near as.)
- Use 10% of your Bank as a stake.
- If a loss occurs, keep to the last stake and not 10% of the new, reduced Bank.
STAKING PLAN 2 (This follows Dave & Gav’s C20 staking plan:)
- Divide your Total Betting Fund into 4 equal blocks. (25% per block.)
- One block – (25%) is used as your Frontline Betting Bank with either 10% or 20% as your stake. (Your choice.) 75% is held in reserve in case of a major loss.
- As you are only using 25% of your Total Bank to bet with, you may want to “Collapse” your Bank and start again at a profit of 10%. The choice is yours.
- Any winnings are added to your Total Betting Bank and then the whole process of splitting into 4 blocks starts again.
- You will need to use Gav & Dave’s Spreadsheet to calculate your stakes. (If not a VIP member, you may want to stick with 10% of your Betting Bank as your stake, then follow rules 1 – 3 above.)
As Albert Einstein allegedly said: “Compound Interest is the 8th Wonder Of The World.”
** NB. A SPLIT bet is normally divided into 25% for the WIN and 75% for the PLACE. (ie. 1/3.) If I mention a 2/2 split, it means 50% for the WIN and 50% for the PLACE. (ie. 2/2.) **
TODAY’S HRP SELECTIONS
TRIPLER
14.45 – Hamilton – Tribal Hunter. Should improve following a good 2nd place finish a fortnight ago. WIN. (1.81)
18.35 – Wolverhampton – Proud Fairy. Slightly the best of an average bunch. SPLIT. (4.0 & 1.62)
20.20 – Wolverhampton – El Habeeb. The perfect race to get off the mark. WIN. (1.49)
OBAD
14.30 – Kempton – Maghlaak. A fairly large race with 14 runners. However, ours stands out from the crowd and did really well 2 weeks ago. With improvement on the cards, I’m looking at a WIN. (2.0)
RATCHET
Same selections as Tripler but in the PLACE MARKET. Instructions for use: http://bit.ly/35tpfR3
DOC’S FAV GOLDMINE
16.15 – Hamilton – Yorkindness. (1.27 – 6 – 2)
DFG OBAD
16.15 – Hamilton – Yorkindness. (1.27 – 6 – 2)
YESTERDAY’S SUMMARY
What a joke in Race 1 on Tripler! Only 2 runners & ours was the MASSIVE favourite. It lost! Never mind, Race 2 won, and Race 3 was a non Runner. The OBAD selection won. Because there were only 2 runners in Race 1 & Race 3 was a Non-Runner, we got 1 win on Ratchet.
Doc’s Fav Goldmine came up with 2 selections, and both won.
DFG OBAD was a winner.
TRIPLER
16.50 – Windsor – Tribal Wisdom. Only 2 runners, so without any odds, it’s already got a 50/50 chance. Seeing as it’s the hot favourite, it has to be a WIN. (1.19) RESULT – 2nd.
17.10 – Bangor-on-Dee – Presentandcounting. May as well wander around on his own as the others are miles behind. WIN. (1.56) RESULT – 1st.
17.50 – Windsor – Ancestral Land. 11 runners in this short sprint. A bad start means virtually no chance of winning. It’s not the favourite, so for me, it’s a SPLIT. (3.30 & 1.32) RESULT – Non-Runner.
OBAD
17.10 – Bangor-on-Dee – Presentandcounting. May as well wander around on his own as the others are miles behind. WIN. (1.56) RESULT – 1st.
RATCHET – RESULTS – 1st. (Race 1 was a no-place race & Race 3 was a Non-Runner.)
DOC’S FAV GOLDMINE
14.10 – Dundalk – Gimmie Shelter. (1.12 – 9 – 3) 2 TBP at 1.37. RESULT – 3rd.
16.25 – Catterick – Remembering. (1.19 – 7 – 2) RESULT – 1st.
DFG OBAD
14.10 – Dundalk – Gimmie Shelter. (1.12 – 9 – 3) 2 TBP at 1.37. RESULT – 3rd.
hello, I am a recent newbie here and to clarify yesterdays DFG OBAD, because you had 2 TBP at 1.37 in bold – well I thought thats what you were suggesting placing and so I took the 2 TBP however horse came in 3rd so I lost however you have it as a winner because you took the 3 TBP? So I am confused why have the “2 TBP at 1.37”?
Regards – Jag
Hi Jag. The only reason they are in bold is to show an alternative. These aren’t meant to be a “Go to” choice; they are simply meant to represent what is on offer if you want to be either more courageous (fewer places) or remain cautious (more places).
I only show these alternatives if I think they warrant looking at. The actual decision is always left in your hands.
Cheers, The Doc.
