Most people using an Exchange to bet on tend to automatically use Betfair. They are massive and can afford to advertise on the TV and Radio. However, you may never have heard of a Betting Exchange called Smarkets. If you haven’t, they are smaller than Betfair so don’t have the same liquidity in the markets. However, if you open 2 windows, one for Betfair & one for Smarkets, the odds on Smarkets tend to mirror the Betfair odds.
Smarkets also accepts smaller stakes.
Their commission is only 2% as opposed to Betfair’s 5%. The difference in their charges can help you boost your profits as you will be keeping more of your winnings.
Until you are placing bets with very high stakes, Smarkets is not a bad alternative. PLUS if you have never used them before, they probably give you a New Member offer of free bets etc.
Well worth having a look at because in my eyes, it’s better if you can keep more of your winnings than let Betfair shave it off for their profits!
Hi Rob, great service thank you, and great advice.
There is how ever a way to get 2% on Betfair, although not widely advertised. For transparency this came to me through another service and I am not promoting it but was great piece of advice. If you follow this link https://myaccount.betfair.com/rewards… you can take the 2% option, it just means you don’t get the offers act.
There is a YouTube video which shows you how to do it.

Hope this helps. Keep up the good work.

Dr Rob,
You can change the amount of commission you pay on betfair to 2% (you won’t get promotions but when betting on the exchange that’s less of an issue). head over to https://myaccount.betfair.com/rewards/my-rewards to see the differences between the levels.
Betfair also offer 2% commission . You can opt for this in settings
Betdaq also charge 2% commission
