** House Notes** Be careful if races start close to each other. You may not get the results of the race you placed a bet on before the next race starts, so do try to either watch a Live Feed of the race or “watch” the race in real-time at Betfair. **
For Tripler, OBAD, and Ratchet, I use the 3 selections generated by the HRP software, assess each one, and then say what I am going to do. Obviously, you can make your own decisions as to what you think the outcomes will be. Sometimes, the result of a previous race will dictate whether I stick with my predictions or not.
My new system, Doc’s Fav Goldmine, is coming along nicely and I have had many winners on the spin. My small stakes have increased in size, due to a constant supply of winning selections 🙂 My DFG Bank is now really building nicely. As the stake is 10% of the Betting Bank, any losses do hit hard but have always caught up rapidly before moving ahead again.
I ALWAYS stop betting if I hit my target of 2.5% (or as near as dammit.) Use your common sense – if you get close to your personal target, it’s your decision as to whether you want to carry on & go for it. Personally, I learned the harsh lesson of being greedy, and many times, when just under my target, I have “Gone for it,” only to lose the lot chasing bigger profits.
It’s your call as to whether you take the early odds, hoping they will then go down, or wait until nearer the off hoping the odds have increased. The key thing to remember is a winner (or winners) at odds totaling 1.25 or above will hit your Daily Target. A profit of 2.5% per day will double your Bank in a month.
As Albert Einstein is supposed to have said:
“Compound Interest is the 8th Wonder Of The World.”
STAY SAFE FELLAS.
TODAY’S “JOCKEY OF THE DAY”: “Popeye” Doyle. 13.00. Nottingham. Last Hurrah.
An early start today for “Popeye” Doyle. I hope she got a good night’s kip. A couple of other top jocks up against her today, namely Noel Edmonds and Denzel Washington. Popeye can show ’em a clean pair of jodhpurs. Way to go Pops!!
TODAY’S HRP SELECTIONS
TRIPLER
13.50 – Newmarket – Maybury. (52) – This is a very large field for such a short 6-furlong dash and literally, anything can happen. A poor start, a bump, a small slip and it’s all over. However, I think that if he gets a decent start, he will WIN.
17.45 – Leicester – Private Signal. (52) – Came 2nd recently and showed huge potential. With Billy “V-8” Buick on board, I’m going for a WIN.
18.30 – Hamilton – Burning Emotion. (50) – Only just pipped into 2nd place on its’ maiden run recently and showed that he has tons more in the tank. Today’s 3rd WIN.
OBAD
13.50 – Newmarket – Maybury. (52) – See Above.
RATCHET – Instructions for use: http://bit.ly/35tpfR
DOC’S FAV GOLDMINE – All selections are in the PLACE market unless otherwise stated. Stop at a profit of 2.5% per day. (Or as near as.) Use 10% of your Bank as stake. If a loss occurs, keep to the last stake and not 10% of the new, reduced Bank.
I am also showing the early Place Odds in brackets, along with the number of runners and the number of horses to be placed. It’s your decision as to whether or not you take the early odds or wait, hoping they will increase. The key thing to remember is a winner/winners at odds totaling 1.25 or above will hit your Daily Target. A profit of 2.5% per day will double your Bank every month.
Please be prepared to change your line of thinking – “on the hoof” so to speak – if the odds move dramatically. They may drift, thus making the selection a “No Bet”, or the odds may steam in, making it not worth taking the risk.
If you want to, you can omit any bets with odds below 1.25 (or thereabouts) and just concentrate on the bets over those odds. This reduces the number of bets but means if you get a winner, you have hit your target and can stop betting for the day, not having to risk any more money on another race. (It also means, however, if you get a loser, there will be fewer races left to recoup any losses.)
Let’s hope we get better luck than yesterday’s horror show where 2 of our horses massively underperformed.
13.00 – Nottingham – Last Hurrah. (1.30 – 11 – 3)
18.30 – Hamilton – Burning Emotion. (1.25 – 5 – 2)
20.45 – Leicester – Canoodled. (1.43 – 9 – 3)
YESTERDAY’S SUMMARY
TODAY’S “JOCKEY OF THE DAY”: Elliot Carver. 18.50. Bath. Star Caliber.
Since his punishing defeat at the hands of MI6’s finest, James Bond, Elliot took up horse racing as a gentle alternative to ruling the world. He also became a Lay Preacher (pictured above at a recent Covid-safe gathering of his followers at Scratchy Bottom racecourse in Devon last week.) His trainer, Henry Gupta is always trying to give Elliot an edge and was recently caught trying to turn a 2nd place result into a first-place finish by means of his rather sly Geostationary GPS machine. Elliot escaped a ban by promising the preaching session at Scratchy Bottom. Ride ’em, Elliot.
RESULT – Elliot, you were absolutely bobbins! Third? You’re the sort of guy who doesn’t accept failure. You cost me my stake, you Dimbo.
What a strange and somewhat crazy day. Tripler gave us a Race 1 winner, so I hope you got your target, or as near as, before the calamity of race 2. Ours was Evens favourite and ended up getting thrashed by 8/1, 50/1, and 200/1 outsiders! Don’t these so-called jockeys realise that if they can’t win the race, they can still try to finish in the Places, as a lot of people are risking money on their “expertise?” Race 3 came 2nd, just as I predicted. OBAD lost due to the shambolic Tiger Orchid and again, I hope you stopped after race 1 on Ratchet.
Doc’s Fav Goldmine was a nightmare. A real “iffy” month for us but we are still way out ahead as far as profits go. Both Tiger Orchid and Star Caliber finished just outside the places, but 2 losses is a lot. Fortunately, Arctic Emperor won and I managed to get odds of just under 2.0 for the Place, so almost single-handedly dragged my loss back to somewhere acceptable. Summers Knight also won, but at much shorter odds. Luckily, mainly due to Arctic Emperor, the loss for today was greatly reduced. The biggest letdown was Tiger Orchid, who started Evens Favourite and got beaten by horses at 8/1, 50/1, and a pit pony at 200/1!!
