** House Notes** Be careful if races start close to each other. You may not get the results of the race you placed a bet on before the next race starts, so do try to either watch a Live Feed of the race, or “watch” the race in real time at Betfair. **
For Tripler, OBAD and Ratchet, I use the 3 selections generated by the HRP software, assess each one and then say what I am going to do. Obviously, you can make your own decisions as to what you think the outcomes will be. Sometimes, the result of a previous race will dictate as to whether I stick with my predictions or not.
My new system, Doc’s Fav Goldmine, is showing plenty of promise and I have had several winners on the spin. My small stakes are increasing in size, due to a constant supply of winning selections 🙂 My DFG Bank is now really building nicely. Any losses do hit hard, as it’s 10% of the Betting Bank, but has always caught up rapidly before moving ahead again.
I stop betting if I hit my target of 2.5% (or as near as dammit.) Use your common sense – if you get close to your personal target, it’s your decision as to whether you want to carry on & go for it. Personally, I learned the harsh lesson of being greedy and many times, when just under target, I have “Gone for it,” only to lose the lot chasing bigger profits.
It’s your call as to whether you take the early odds, hoping they will then go down, or wait until nearer the off hoping the odds have increased. The key thing to remember is a winner (or winners) at odds totalling 1.25 or above will hit your Daily Target. A profit of 2.5% per day will double you Bank in a month.
STAY SAFE FELLAS.
TODAY’S “JOCKEY OF THE DAY”: Hannibal Hayes. 14.25. Punchestown. Bapaume.
TODAY’S HRP SELECTIONS
TRIPLER
13.20 – Punchestown – Abbey Magic. (64) – Non Runner.
14.25 – Punchestown – Bapaume. (77) – Ridden by that infamous Bank Robber who was framed for something he didn’t do, along with his cohort, Kid Curry, Hannibal Hayes rides ours today. Looking at him in detail, I fully expect him to rob the opposition and WIN.
15.30 – Haydock – Safe Voyage. ( 65) – Wowsers trousers! We’ve got the one and only Jonathan Hart on board today. What an amazing jockster he is. I hope Jennifer will be there, urging him to the tape first. He’s not my pick to win, but I think the thought of Jennifer, waiting for him in the weighing room in her Jodhpurs and wielding a whip, will spur him on to one of the Places. SPLIT
OBAD
14.25 – Punchestown – Bapaume. (77) – See Above.
RATCHET – Instructions for use: http://bit.ly/35tpfR
DOC’S FAV GOLDMINE
All selections are in the PLACE market, unless otherwise stated. Stop at a profit of 2.5% per day. (Or as near as.) Use 10% of your Bank as stake. If a loss happens, keep to the last stake and not 10% of the new, reduced Bank.
I am also showing the early Place Odds in brackets, together with the number of runners and the number of horses to be placed. It’s your decision as to whether or not you take the early odds or wait, hoping they will increase. The key thing to remember is a winner/winners at odds totalling 1.25 or above will hit your Daily Target. A profit of 2.5% per day will double you Bank every month.
Please be prepared to change your line of thinking – “on the hoof” so to speak – if the odds move dramatically. They may drift, thus making the selection a “No Bet”, or the odds may steam in, making it not worth taking the risk.
If you want to, you can omit any bets with odds below 1.25 (or thereabouts) and just concentrate on the bets over those odds. This reduces the number of bets but means if you get a winner, you have hit your target and can stop betting for the day, not having to risk any more money on another race. (It also means however, if you get a loser, there will be less races left to recoup any losses.)
13.05 – Cartmel – Gladiatorial. (1.27 – 6 – 2)
13.20 – Punchestown – Sapphire Lady. (1.29 – 5 – 2)
14.25 – Punchestown – Bapaume. (1.27 – 8 – 3)
14.45 – Cartmel – Fugitives Drift. (1.63 – 6 – 2)
16.25 – Chester – Al Shibli. (1.25 – 10 – 3)
18.15 – Salisbury – Colombe. (1.51 – 6 – 2)
18.45 – Salisbury – Biggles. (1.38 – 9 – 3)
19.00 – Ffos Las – Jemima P. (1.59 – 6 – 2)
YESTERDAY’S SUMMARY
No selections yesterday. Good old Virgin Media had an outage at HRP Towers!
Hey Doc,
I’m slightly curious as to why Aveta (2.05 Chester) didn’t qualify as a selection today? The odds have gone up quite a bit and I’m eyeing 3TBP / 4TBP. Solid fav stats in that race though…
Hi PerLind. I dunno really :). I would think it’s because out of all the selections I made, there was something about the odds/runners/distance I wasn’t sure of. I apologise as I don’t spend all day at the laptop or else my wife would do something drastic!!
Once I make my decisions, I place the 1st bet & leave things until the result.
Hope that’s OK?
Ofc Dr, I was just wondering whether you had your reasoning fresh in mind as I try understand angles that differ from my own reasoning for backing a horse or not. I’m far from a professional so any additional info / discussion usually helps.
I also have a limited amount of time for making my picks and can’t follow the racing all day (I wish though, haha!). Anyway Aveta finished 3rd so all good 🙂
