For Tripler, OBAD and Ratchet, I use the 3 selections generated by the HRP software, assess each one and then say what I am going to do. Obviously, you can make your own decisions as to what you think the outcomes will be. Sometimes, the result of a previous race will dictate as to whether I stick with my predictions or not.

My new system, Doc’s Fav Goldmine, is showing plenty of promise and I have had several winners on the spin. My small stakes are increasing in size, due to a constant supply of winning selections 🙂 My DFG Bank is now really building nicely. Any losses do hit hard, as it’s 10% of the Betting Bank, but has always caught up rapidly before moving ahead again.

I stop betting if I hit my target of 2.5% (or as near as dammit.) Use your common sense – if you get close to your personal target, it’s your decision as to whether you want to carry on & go for it. Personally, I learned the harsh lesson of being greedy and many times, when just under target, I have “Gone for it,” only to lose the lot chasing bigger profits.

15.15 – Hamilton – Dragon Symbol. (59) – Ridden by Adam McNamara – he’s the leader of the band don’t you know – and has blitzed the opposition in his past races. WIN.

16.55 – Hamilton – Fantastic Fox. (72) – Named after Neil or Don? The pilot’s name is Eeoowin or summat. Came 3rd recently but that was against vastly superior horses. He will surely outclass this lot today. WIN.

A great start with a 1st place on Tripler should have been sufficient to stop, as Races 2 & 3 both came 2nd. OBAD was a loss with the 2nd place but it was a full house for Ratchet, with all 3 selections placing.

Doc’s Fav Goldmine struck gold in Race 1 and was enough to stop. Race 2 cocked things up with a 3rd place but Races 3 & 4 both came in.

16.07 – Uttoxeter – Friend Or Foe (82) – Ours is steered by Bryony Frost and is up against David Bellamy and Alfie Bass. Bellamy’s beard and Bass’ shortness go against them, so it’s Bryony all the way. WIN. RESULT – 1st.

16.50 – Newmarket – Secret Protector (89) – Our powerful V-8 jockey, Billy-boy Buick, is up against Brian Moore and Neighbours’ very own Harold Bishop. I’m going to plump for Bill’s V-8 to power him to the chequered flag in first place. WIN. RESULT – 2nd.

18.25 – Hexham – Nobby (87) – Named after that ex Man United and England destroyer, Nobby Nobbs, I’m going for its pilot, Rock On Tommy Cannon to blaze a nobby trail. WIN. RESULT – 2nd.
