NOTES
- Be careful if races start close to each other. You may not get the results before the next race starts. Either watch the race live, or watch it on Betfair.
- For Tripler, OBAD, and Ratchet, I use the 3 HRP Systems, assess each one, and then post my predictions. Sometimes, the result of a previous race dictates my next selection. The Platinum spreadsheet determines your next stake.
- I ALWAYS stop betting if I hit my target of 2.5% (or as near as dammit.) If you get close to your personal target, it’s your decision as to whether you want to carry on.
- It’s your call as to whether you take the early odds, hoping they will then go down, or wait until nearer the off hoping the odds have increased.
- A winner (or winners) at odds totalling 1.25 or above will hit your Daily Target. A profit of 2.5% per day will double your Bank in a month.
STAKING PLAN 1
- All selections will be using the Platinum Staking Spreadsheet, with the Bet Type dependent on the odds and the spreadsheet settings.
- Stop at a profit of 2.5% per day. (Or as near as.)
- The stake will be calculated automatically by the Platinum Spreadsheet.
- If a loss occurs, the spreadsheet will keep you on track the the next bet.
STAKING PLAN 2. (This follows Dave & Gav’s C20 staking plan:)
- Divide your Total Betting Fund into 4 equal blocks. (25% per block.)
- One block – (25%) is used as your Frontline Betting Bank with either 10% or 20% as your stake. (Your choice.) 75% is held in reserve in case of a major loss.
- As you are only using 25% of your Total Bank to bet with, you may want to “Collapse” your Bank and start again at a profit of either 5% or 10%. The choice is yours.
- Any winnings are added to your Total Betting Bank and then the whole process of splitting into 4 blocks starts again.
- You will need to use Gav & Dave’s Spreadsheet to calculate your stakes. (If not a VIP member, you may want to stick with 10% of your Betting Bank as your stake, then follow rules 1 – 3 above.)

Let’s shake things up a bit. I am looking at a slightly different approach to my daily selections. Up to now, I have stuck firmly to the 10% staking method (for DFG). From now on, I will start posting 2 spreadsheets every day:
- Using the Platinum Staking Plan for the TRIPLER selections.
- Using the Platinum Staking Plan for DOC’S FAV GOLDMINE selections.
My target is 2.5% per day. Any profits will then be re-invested for the next day’s bets. I will publish the results at the bottom of the page.
- DON’T FORGET THE KEY TO EVERYTHING – A 2.5% profit per day will DOUBLE your Bank in a month.
- DOC’S FAV GOLDMINE selections are usually posted around lunchtime. This gives the markets chance to mature.

YESTERDAY’S SUMMARY
The 2nd place in Race 1 on Tripler was sufficient for a nice 1 race “Job Done.” Nice and easy 3.63% profit on the day. As a matter of interest, Races 2 & 3 both won. OBAD was a nice win at odds of 1.95 and all 3 horses placed for a great day on Ratchet.
We got another “Job Done” after Race 1 on Doc’s Fav Goldmine, giving a tidy 3.92% profit. Races 2, 3 & 4 all finished as predicted for a terrific day. DFG OBAD was a winner at a fraction under 1%. But it’s better than a loss!

Hi there, I’m fairly new here but following fairly well.
I can’t find out what the notation: (3 TBP at 1.56) means though.
Can anyone explain it to me please, or point me to where I can read what it means?

Hi James, it means that odds obtainable in the 3 to be placed (3tbp) market at the time of listing were 1.56. Does that help?
ah yes, thanks Gav, I was just about to reply that I have figured it out.
I didn’t know that there were markets available on Betfair now for different number of placings ( haven’t been betting for a few years!)
Ok, so now next question, does that mean that the 1.56 is preferred over the standard place bet? ( for three placings rather than 2?)
It only has relevance in the context of odds criteria for whatever staking system you are using. Which approaches are you using, exactly?

but I will probably just follow the staking methods used by Dr Rob.
