Friday 13th March 2020 + Summary

TODAY’S SELECTIONS

TRIPLER

13.55 – Fakenham – Swaffham Bulbeck. Only 5 runners & 2 are neck & neck. Ours is slightly preferred so I’m going for a WIN.

15.00 – Lingfield – Unforgiving Minute. Favourite by a country mile. In top form & looking to carry on in the same vein. WIN.

17.45 – Dundalk – Lady De Vesci. 3 at the top of the betting & ours is in this group. Apparently it loves this distance, but the odds are not brilliant for the win but OK for the place. I’m going for a SPLIT if we get this far. Ex Liverpool midfielder Ronnie Whelan rides this one so a good pedigree.

My calculations show that if Race 1 loses, but the highly fancied Race 2 wins, a win with a split bet on Race 3 will hit target.

YESTERDAY’S SUMMARY

TRIPLER

13.15 – Doncaster – The Macon Lugnatic. I went for a Split on this one. As the horse won, I came up trumps with payouts on both the Win and the Place markets. Target hit & JOB DONE. No more Tripler betting.

15.15 – Hexham – Giovanni Change. MEETING ABANDONED.

15.30 – Cheltenham – Paisley Park. Checked the result when I got home after walking the dogs. What a shambles! Beaten by: 50/1, 20/1, 33/1, 10/1, 10/1 & 50/1 horses. Ours was the red hot favourite and I would be ashamed if I had anything to do with this jockey. Aiden Coleman? More like David Coleman.

RATCHET

Same rules apply. Had a target winning day after Race.

Not a bad day apart from the 15.30.

I don’t know much about Cheltenham, but it seems like in most races, there are 1 or 2 really strong favourites and the rest are massive outsiders. Is it geared up just to let the owners of the “Top” horses prance around?
