Last betting for a couple of days. I’m off to Sheffield tomorrow for the Masterclass event. Really looking forward to it. I want to learn more about winning what I want – MONEY! To anyone else who is going, see you there for a brew.
TODAY’S SELECTIONS
TRIPLER
14.35 – Doncaster – Goobinator. Well, looking at the weather, this is going to be a bit of a lottery. However, Goobinator has a good record. WIN.
15.30 – Lingfield – Healing Power. All weather track. 4 runners & ours is well ahead in the betting. WIN.
16.35 – Lingfield – Miss Elsa. 6 runners. 2 well fancied horses but ours has a really good recent history. WIN.
OBAD
See 14.35 Doncaster above.
RATCHET
Same 10% stake.
YESTERDAY’S SUMMARY
What a disastrous day. In Race 1, our selection came 2nd. I went for a split and ended up with a small loss. On to Race 2 & I went for a win. The stupid bugger fell off! Bang went my increased stake. Sh*t or bust on Race 3.
Out of 4 runners, ours – the favourite – came THIRD! The only horse it beat was a 50/1 rank outsider. What in God’s Holy name do these trainers actually do? How can the horses they train, day in, day out, perform SO badly. My Bank took an absolute hammering so, it’s another slow build up to get back to where I was.
I’m sure that if it was an Olympic 100 metre athlete that came 3rd out of 4 runners & performed like a total tool, only beating a 30 stone shot putter, questions would be asked. Are questions asked in horse racing circles when so-called favourites perform SO badly? I wonder ……
Emil – I’m just following the Ratchet Guidelines.
Mike – When I lose on Ratchet, my next stake isn’t 10% of the new (lower) Bank. My stake is the last one used. That is, the highest stake I have paced. Example: If my Bank was £100, the stake would be £10. If I lost the 1st race, my Bank would be £90. My stake would not drop to £9, but remain at £10. Also, I tend to leave races where the odds are lower than 1.2 for the Place. OBAD has had a poor run recently, but I put this down to the dreadful weather.
