18.00 – Wolverhampton – Dark Lion. Clear leader in this 6 runner dash. WIN.
19.00 – Wolverhampton – Steelriver. Good Place Odds. SPLIT.

YESTERDAY’S RESULTS
Yesterday was about as pooh as you can get. If pooh was measurable, I would be inundated with pooh. I think our selections thought they were going to be lucky as it was the 1st of the month. May as well have been April Fool’s Day! Onward and upward tomorrow.
TRIPLER
13.30 – Tipperary – Russian Diamond. A very competitive race. 7 runners but over 2 miles. A win with a Split would hit my target. SPLIT. RESULT – 3rd. As the race ended up with only 6 runners, they were paying out only on the 1st 2 places. Therefore LOST.
14.40 – Southwell – Ashutor. 12 Runners in this with ours in the Top 2. Edging towards another SPLIT. RESULT – 3rd. Because of the non-runners in Race 1, I decided to go for the WIN. LOST.
16.55 – Leopardstown – So Wonderful. Ran really well at Ascot (4th) and this is a much lower ranked race. WIN. RESULT – 7th. So Wonderful, it decided to walk round and take in the scenery. LOST.
OBAD
14.40 – Southwell – Ashutor. 12 Runners in this with ours in the Top 2. SPLIT. RESULT – 3rd. If it had won, I would have hit target. As it was, I took a very small hit.
RATCHET
Same principles as always. RESULT – Lost on Race 1, tiny profit on Race 2 so on to Race 3 which also LOST.
NEW SYSTEM – Same betting principles as Ratchet.
13.20 – Musselburgh – Infant Hercules. RESULT – 2nd. Made a profit of 2.4% on my Bank so I stopped rather than being greedy. Good job!
13.30 – Tipperary – Russian Diamond. RESULT – 3rd
14.10 – Southwell – Enemy Coast Ahead. RESULT – 1st.
Hi Bob, I am sure this will have been asked before but theres no way to search and too time consuming to go thro all past posts. So today hot scoop “standard” place is to 2 places but you can “upgrade” to 3 places, but odds for 3 places (as is often the case) wont fully cover the win loss. Do you go for the 2 places or go up for the extra place to 3 please as at least if come 3rd your loss would be smaller? -Thank you Jag
Entirely up to you Jag. I tend to stick with whatever Betfair class as “Standard.” Today, I did Split bets on Hot Scoop on Tripler & OBAD. Because it won, I won the Win and the Place elements & therefore I hit my personal targets.
