Tuesday 14th January 2020 + Summary

TODAY’S SELECTIONS

TRIPLER

13.35 – Doncaster – Craigneiche. Way out in front of the betting. Also helps I’ve heard of the jockey so I hope his experience is better than the others. WIN.

14.10 – Doncaster – Cotswold Way. 8 Starters but decent odds. To avoid any risk, I’m opting for a SPLIT.

14.40 – Doncaster – Perfect Predator. 14 Runners in this one plus jumps. My double worst scenario. SPLIT.

OBAD

See 13.35 above.

RATCHET

10% of my day’s Starting Bank with a stop at 2.5%. (I will set my target at 2.5% but if I get anything above 2%, I will stop.) This goes for Tripler as well. I’m fed up of getting close to my target only to lose the next race, therefore blowing my winnings and forcing me into a debit situation.

Good luck for today – let’s hope we can claw back some of yesterday’s abysmal results.

YESTERDAY’S SUMMARY.

Yesterday’s betting was about as bobbins as the weather.

My quote for the 1st race was: “Only 5 runners & way out in front”. The daft sod came 2nd, well beaten by a 3/1 pleb. It did lead for a bit but yet again, didn’t have the stamina to finish the race off. My question is, the Trainers, who I think work day in day out with these horses, should know what they are capable of. If a horse hasn’t got the stamina to finish off a 2 mile race when leading, why oh why is it even entered in a 2 mile race? That result lost me on Tripler and blew OBAD out of the water. An instant loss. The 2nd place DID give me a winner on Ratchet, but not enough to stop betting for the day.

Race 2 – again, 5 runners & ours had a recent win over the next favoured nag. Out of 5 horses, ours managed an asthmatic 4th. The only horse it could beat was a 40/1 shot which is still running. Dreadful. Tripler took another beating as did Ratchet.

Race 3 – Now, if Never Alone hadn’t won, I would have done a sit down protest in the middle of St Peter’s Way in Bolton in my gruds. This duly won, but at such low odds, it only clawed a small bit of my losses back. In fact, the odds were so low, I didn’t even risk a bet on Ratchet because it was too much of a gamble compared to the possible return. If I had bet on it, the jockey would have probably broken wind & fallen off.

Overall,a bad day but in racing, there’s always tomorrow.
