TODAY’S SELECTIONS
TRIPLER
12.30 – Punchestown – Instant Return. 2nd Favourite in a 2 mile hurdle. SPLIT.
12.45 – Newbury – Aimee De Siviola. My spreadsheet says if I do a Split bet & the horse wins, it’s a good day. SPLIT.
13.15 – Newbury – Shishkin. As race 1, a 2 mile hurdle with no outstanding favourite although ours leads with way with a jockey I’ve heard of. SPLIT.
So, 3 x Split bets for me, but this may change according to the results of races prior.
OBAD
See 12.45 Newbury above. If it doesn’t win but places, I break even. SPLIT.
RATCHET
Normal 10% of Bank as a stake, BUT if I can hit my 2.5% target with a 5% stake, I will do that. Let’s give it a whizz!
YESTERDAY’S SUMMARY
A lot better than yesterday. The first race – 13.35 at Doncaster – produced a winner. That hit my Tripler target for the day, so no more Tripler bets. It was also the OBAD selection and again, hit target.
Regarding Ratchet, that race also produced a winner, but it was well below an acceptable profit amount. I tried something new on the 2nd bet: I calculated that because of the odds, if the horse placed, I would hit my target with a 5% Bank Stake. So, I changed tack & plumped for a 5% stake. Damn me, the bugger lost, BUT the loss amount wasn’t as bad as it would have been had been a bit greedy & gone for the full 10%. I did revert back to 10% on the 3rd race as it was a more fancied horse & it duly pulled in a place win. Total result was a very small loss on Ratchet.
Not a bad day all in all.
Good on ya Rob
Morning Rob, all bets today are splits, is that right Rob??
Hi Rob, when you have a losing day (lets say 10% of your bank lost) the following day do you still only aim for 2.5% daily target or do you keep betting the other selections?
thanks
Hi Matt. Personally, I do, yes. I do it in the knowledge – o hope! – that after afew wins, it will be back in a positive situation.
Hi Francis. Sorry it’s only about 12 hours late! Yes, I selected 3 x Splits. I hit target on Tripler & Ratchet but lost a bit on OBAD.
