As Dinah Washington sang – “What A Difference A Day Makes, 24 Little Hours.” It meant that I took the dogs for a walk with a smile on my haggered mush and without resorting to booting next door’s cat.
Race 1 at Punchestown. Salsaretta had a really strong race and for a change, had the strength & stamina to hold on for a really good result. It meant that because I was on a 6 point stake, I managed a return of 7.20%. It also meant Job Done for the Tripler and no more betting for me. Almost as importantly, it also meant I didn’t have to panic about the next race, which followed 5 minutes later.
Race 2 didn’t matter to me but upon checking the results, it finished 3rd. It meant my Split selection would have placed & given me a return of sorts.
Race 3 again didn’t matter, although it was the OBAD selection. It finished in 2nd place and as I had gone for the Split stake, it brought me a tiny profit.
RATCHET – The 12.40 at Punchestown won in the 1st of the 3 selections and gave me a nice 3.10% profit. No more betting for me on ratchet. (If you had carried on, you would have won all 3 races but that’s not my style; I’m quite happy with the percentages I got.)
A great end to the year and let’s hope the HRP software has a brilliant 2020.
TODAY’S SELECTIONS
13.25 Cheltenham. Champ. Only 6 runners & well fancied. WIN
15.00 Exeter. Bullionaire. 12 runners this time but all reports say it is capable of romping it home. (LOL!) WIN

RATCHET
10% Bank Stake as always with a STOP at 2.5% or as near as dammit.
Luckily, the OBAD selection is also the 1st race of the 3 selections, so fingers crossed, it it wins, I should have a nice Job Done & no more betting for me today.
